In May of 2005 I flew to Seattle in route to climbing Mount Rainier, the tallest mountain in the state of Washington. I climbed with Rainier Mountaineering Inc. My guide during the climb was John Lucia. My rope leader was assistant guide Ben Mitchell. We summited on May 29, 2005 at about 6:30 AM. This was, despite all the negative things I’d read about RMI, a great, well organized climb. I would have no reservation about climbing with them again. It was my 30th successful highpoint, and was the first of two climbs I attempted during the summer of 2005. I had initially planned to climb with my friend Cory who lives in Seattle, but time and finances prevented him from being able to make the trip. This page and the links on it will serve as my trip report, slide show and my photo album. The squares above are links. Each page has an mp3 that will play while you look at the slide for a true to the word, slide show experience. Please make sure that you have Apple’s QuickTime installed. Or if you’d rather not hear my nasally voice you might want to leave off with the QuickTime. And to those of you who have already installed it, I apologize. |
